As a skilled trial attorney, Richard has successfully represented major development companies and other corporations in challenging and complex real estate cases that include breach of commercial real estate contracts, breach of fiduciary duty and lender liability. He has won favorable rulings against governmental agencies in limiting environmental impact reports.

He has represented major Silicon Valley developers in purchase and sale, leasing and financing transactions. As counsel to Sobrato Development Companies, Richard managed the negotiation of a joint venture with Apple Computer for the development and leasing of a research and development headquarters.

Richard has special expertise in assisting developers in land use and entitlement matters. This specialized skill was instrumental in his representation of Southern Pacific Railroad in connection with the Point Tiburon redevelopment project in Marin County, California.
